Dough for Uganda

That’s right folks, I may be a little too old for the girl scouts, but I’m taking a page from their business plan and selling cookies to my loyal AND generous neighbors, friends, and family. (Yes…that would be you.)

The Details: This summer I will be traveling to Uganda once again to work with Hope Alive!, a project which aids vulnerable Ugandan youth and their families. As some of you know, I am nearing the completion of my master’s program in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Assistance. This trip will serve both as the culmination of my graduate studies as well as the continuation of a calling. I greatly anticipate the opportunity to reunite with dearly loved students and friends who have patiently waited two years now for my return. I also look forward to offering my newly acquired skills and knowledge in ways that will benefit Hope Alive! and the Ugandan people. My “mission” this time is very specific and involves conducting face-to-face meetings with the families of sponsored students to assess their current levels of need.

The catch: I need dough. And not the cookie type. About a quarter of the needed funds for this trip are being awarded by my university. I will be contributing another quarter of the cost out of pocket. The remainder of funding I hope to raise through this crazy cookie selling scheme. My goal is to sell 200+ tubs of dough. I would love to have your help.

Please consider purchasing cookie dough from me between now and June 4th. Spread the word to anyone else you think may be interested by directing them to this Facebook page, to my blog, or to email me. I need your help to get the word out.

Want to buy some dough? Here’s how it works.

Step 1: Choose a quantity.

Look over the options below to deduce how many tubs of dough you would like to purchase and which flavors. One 2.75 lb tub of dough is $13.

Available flavors: chocolate chunk, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter, M&M, white chocolate macadamia, sugar, triple chocolate, or monster (which includes chocolate chunks, coconut, white chocolate, butterscotch, M&Ms, and pecans).

Step 2: Choose your payment type.

You can pay in advance through PayPal with a credit card or direct bank withdrawal. Or you can pay upon delivery with cash or check.

PayPal users simply need to inform me of their intent to pay by that method and I will provide you with the necessary information for making your payment.

Step 3: Choose a delivery method.

  1. Delivery in person by yours truly in mid-June (if you reside in Brevard County, Florida), or
  2. Delivery by mail to your front door (for an extra $3). This option is provided especially for those non-Floridians who would like to participate in the fundraiser.**

**Delivery by mail flavors available: chocolate chunk, oatmeal raisin, snickerdoodle, triple chocolate, sugar, or white chocolate macadamia nut.

Step 4: Place your order.

Email me at doughforuganda@gmail.com with your cookie order, your chosen method of delivery, and your preferred method of payment.

Step 5: Receive cookie dough in mid-June. Enjoy!

If you have any questions concerning the fundraiser or my trip, please don’t hesitate to contact me. If you are interested in helping, please let me know.
