Food:
Who needs utensils? Instead of cutting away the outer skin and slicing up the mangos, the kids simply strip off the outer peel with their teeth. I had a try at it… it’s an efficient, but messy, method.
Transportation:
Most small children who cannot yet walk are carried around on the backs of their not-much-older siblings or relatives. I saw many girls who looked to be between the ages of 5 and 7 who were carrying around babies on their backs or hips. They would carry the younger children everywhere… walking to the well, going out to play, eating… and they were responsible for caring for the babies.

This little guy found an easier way to transport his younger friend.
Bicycles are very important and widely used means of transport for people in this area. There are no Walmarts around to sell children’s bicycles. So, the kids improvise with the big bikes. Notice how they simply sick their leg through the lower portion of the bike, then cling to middle bar with one hand to balance and use the other hand to steer. It’s quite amazing actually! And you will see quite a few small children riding bicycles in this manner. This little guy is even driving with a passenger on the back.
